LAGUNA
by Sharunas Bartas
Doc | 102 min | 2025 | Lithuania / France

On Mexico’s Pacific coast—the land Ina Marija had embraced before passing away too young—her father and younger sister Una set out on a journey retracing her steps. There, in the lush mangrove forests, within a lagoon devastated by hurricanes yet endlessly reborn, they begin the work of mourning. As he films this passage, Sharunas Bartas lays bare his emotions and, in an act of transmission, seeks a form of renewal nurtured by the cycles of life and nature.
